Los Angeles, CA, May 11, 2012 – LiveDeposition.com, a leading provider of web-based real-time streaming solutions for the court reporting industry, recently announced their pledge of $5,000 to help fund the creation of “On The Record: A Court Reporting Documentary”.
“On The Record: A Court Reporting Documentary” is the brainchild of Marc Greenberg, a stenography teacher who currently resides in Portland, Oregon. The documentary will dive into the world of court reporting, captioning, CART work, and the “steno culture.” When asked the reason behind his decision to create a documentary on court reporting, Marc commented, “I decided to make On the Record, because much like the court reporter who works in silence, I feel that the world of stenography has been partitioned off from the world in many ways. So this is my way of sharing this exciting profession.”
Filming is scheduled to commence during the 2012 National Court Reporters Association’s Annual Convention, where Marc and his production team will begin tracking the progress of Mark Kislingbury, the world’s fastest writer, as he attempts to write four hundred words per minute. In addition to capturing Mark’s attempt at the world record, this documentary will cover the future of court reporting. “There was a time where every court reporter used nothing but a pad of paper and a pen. Now, only a few pen writers remain.” Marc stated.
When the opportunity arose for LiveDeposition.com to take part in a project that not only will educate and inform those who watch it, but also be a monumental part of court reporting history, the company was more than eager to jump on board. “The world of court reporting and stenography is the lifeblood of our business. Each day more and more professionals in the legal field are requesting the ability to remotely attend depositions. LiveDeposition.com is currently positioned to play a major role in the future of court reporting and we are extremely honored to have been given the chance to stand behind and support our industry, as well as such an amazing project.” – Steven Genter, Director, LiveDeposition.com.
