What is your agency motto?
“Whatever you need, whenever you need it. We are “All-In” for your litigation team.”
What sets your agency apart?
Owner-operated by a past president of the Arizona Court Reporters Association, we are uniquely poised to offer national experience with local, personal customer-service and attention to detail throughout discovery. We enjoy an excellent reputation in both the reporting and legal industry, specializing in large litigation. Your deposition is not passed around through layers of anonymous admin and reporters, costing your client unnecessary waste. Superior cost-containment and 24/7 responsiveness, while delivering state-of-the-art professional court reporting services to our esteemed clients and our networking partners.
What advice would you give students or those just entering the field of court reporting on how to align themselves with an agency?
Make a personal commitment to always be available, cheerfully say “Yes” to every assignment, and live up to your word.
Your professionalism will be noticed and appreciated by both your agency management, and also by the clients.
Since your agency first opened, what do you feel has changed the most in the industry?
Clearly, technology.
Court reporting has always been on the cutting edge of each advancement in technology. The ability to real-time stream audio/video across the world testimony and proceedings that the professional court reporter is both writing and witnessing opens the door to a myriad of possibilities.
Also, our young reporters are being groomed with a stronger technology base, and able to achieve high-volume production much faster in their career track.
Clients are better served by quality reporters who possess more skills, and agencies can build a deep bench of highly-trained real-time reporters.
Where is the strangest place your agency has been asked to take a deposition?
A lettuce field, taking the deposition of a migrant farm worker.
But, what sticks in my heart consistently are the med-mal deathbed testimonies held at the home of the witness, sometimes being surrounded by their children and family, as they share their story. . . to be forever preserved for events that will happen after they pass.
What is the funniest thing you or someone at your agency has heard during a deposition or in the courtroom?
During a break in testimony of a polygamist, he took a personal call from home. Clearly frustrated by the call, he leaned over and told me how lucky I am.
I asked, “Why is that?”
His answer: “You only have ONE mother-in-law. I have five.”
What do you like most about LiveDeposition.com?
The industry has been begging for a totally user-friendly platform, and LiveDeposition delivers exactly that. Finally, all the components of video and real-time internet streaming, output, with private chat and detailed tracking and reports, all in one click.
The learning curve can be measured literally in minutes, instead of hours or days as with previous platforms of other vendors. To be able to offer the finest, most comprehensive delivery of live streaming, with no complicated learning curve is an income stream that you absolutely cannot justify passing on.
Anything else you would like to share?
