For the Record to Make World Premiere at 2015 SXSW Film Festival

LOS ANGELES, CA, February 6, 2015 – LiveDeposition, a leading provider of local and cloud-based remote realtime streaming solutions for the legal industry, announced today that “For the Record”, a documentary in which LiveDeposition helped sponsor, will be making its World Premiere at the 2015 South By Southwest™ (SXSW) Film Festival being held in Austin, Texas from March 13-21, 2015.

In May of 2012 LiveDeposition was contacted by Marc Greenberg, a stenography teacher currently residing in Portland, Oregon, regarding a documentary he was putting together called “For the Record”.  The documentary would dive into the world of court reporting, captioning, CART work, and the “steno culture”, past, present and future.

When the opportunity arose for LiveDeposition to take part in a project that not only would educate and inform those who watch it, but also be a monumental part of court reporting history, they were more than eager to jump on board as a sponsor.  Filming for the project started in June of 2012, with the very first public screening held almost two years later on August 1, 2014, the same weekend as the NCRA 2014 Annual Convention in San Francisco, CA.

Recently, the producers of “For the Record” issued an update stating that the documentary has been selected to make its World Premiere at the 2015 SXSW Film Festival.  SXSW is considered one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world and only about one-percent of all documentary submissions make it through the doors to premiere at the festival.

When asked how LiveDeposition feels about supporting and being part of such an incredible project, Tawny Labrum, Marketing Director for LiveDeposition, stated, “The court reporting industry is the lifeblood of our business and we are extremely honored to be able to stand behind amazing projects such as “For the Record”.  For the documentary to premiere at such a highly attended film festival means a lot for the industry, its future and LiveDeposition as a technology service provider.”
