Ludwig Klein is owned by two licensed court reporters – we
know all California and Federal deposition codes and regulations and will treat all parties equally and maintain the integrity of the deposition transcript once it is prepared. We also will answer the phone as well as email in all cases but especially in emergencies.
What advice would you give students or those just entering the field of court reporting on how to align themselves with an agency?
Guard your reputation carefully by always doing a great job and paying attention to every detail; return all emails even if you are unavailable; be flexible re scheduling.
Since your agency first opened, what do you feel has changed the most in the industry?
Pricing and Special Service Deals being made with parties to the action that give advantage and preferential treatment to one side in litigation which results in the calling into question the working reporter’s impartiality as a quasi-officer of the court.
Where is the strangest place your agency has been asked to take a deposition?
In the backyard of a house with all counsel sitting by the pool in their bathing suits.
What is the funniest thing that has happened during a deposition or in the courtroom?
A wrongful termination case involving a minister who had erections behind the pulpit during the service.
